Step 0: Contact MuchSkills

Contact MuchSkills support and ask them to add your domain/s. You can use the chat on the website and in the application (yellow icon in bottom right). 

Step 1: Add MuchSkills as a new application in Okta

1. Sign in to your Okta Admin Console.
2. Go to Applications → Applications.
3. Click Create App Integration.
4. Select SAML 2.0 as the sign-in method and click Next.
5. Enter an application name (e.g. MuchSkills). You may also upload the MuchSkills logo for easier identification.

Step 2: Configure SAML settings in Okta

1. In the General Settings section, click Next.
2. In the SAML Settings section: you need to add the SSO URL from MuchSkills platform. Log into MuchSkills https://app.muchskills.com/login and go to TEAM/ORG - Settings - and the tab Security & SAML. Copy the SSO URL from the page.
3. In the field Audience URI (SP Entity ID) inter the same SSO URL from MuchSkills.
4. Leave Default RelayState empty.
5. Set Name ID format to: EmailAddress.
6. Set Application username to: Email.
7. Click Next to finish the configuration.

Step 3: Assign users to the MuchSkills application

1. In Okta, open your newly created MuchSkills application.
2. Go to Assignments.
3. Add individuals or groups who should be able to log in to MuchSkills with Okta SSO.

Step 4: Provide Okta metadata to MuchSkills

1. In Okta, navigate to your MuchSkills application’s Sign-On tab.
2. Under SAML Signing Certificates, click View Setup Instructions.
3. Copy the Identity Provider Metadata URL.
4. Go to your MuchSkills Admin → Settings → SAML/SSO.
5. Paste the Metadata URL into the IDP Metadata URL field.
6. Click Enable SAML.

Step 5: Configure email domains and enforce SSO (optional)

• Enforce SAML: Once you confirm SSO is working, you can enable Enforce SAML in MuchSkills settings page. This ensures users with the configured domains can only log in through Okta. Admins will still be able to log in with a password if needed.

Step 6: Test the integration

1. Open a new browser window in Incognito/Private mode.
2. Go to https://app.muchskills.com.
3. Click Sign in with SAML/SSO 
4. Sign in with a user account that is assigned to the MuchSkills application in Okta.
5. If the login succeeds, your integration is complete.
