Course reports from connected learning platforms

When your organisation connects a learning platform such as Skillsoft Percipio or Udemy Business, Reports gets a Courses section. It lists the active courses with the number of students and the skills they cover, and shows who is studying and who has completed each course, with dates.
How it works
Learning platforms hold the courses. MuchSkills holds the skills. When the two are connected, MuchSkills reads the course catalogue and your people's learning activity, and matches each learner to a MuchSkills member by email address.
Team/Org › Reports then gets a Courses section, with one entry per connected platform, for example Skillsoft or Udemy. Each report shows:
- the total number of active courses on the platform
- each course with the number of students and the skills it covers
- for each course, who is studying it and who has completed it, with start and completion dates
Use it to see whether the learning you pay for is being used, which skills people are developing, and who has completed training a role or certificate needs.
Before you start
- A connected learning platform. Udemy Business is self-serve in Team/Org › Settings › Integrations. Skillsoft Percipio is set up with us. For other platforms, see Connect any LMS.
- Matching email addresses. Each person's email on the learning platform must be the address they sign in to MuchSkills with.
- Your role. You need access to Reports.
Steps
- Open the report. Go to Team/Org › Reports and click your platform under Courses, for example Udemy.
- Read the course list. The heading shows the number of active courses on the platform, for example Total active Udemy courses. Each row shows the Course Name, the number of Students and, below the name, the skills the course covers.
- Find a course. Type in the search box at the top. Choose how many rows to show per page next to the page numbers.
- Open a course. Click a course. The panel on the right shows how many people are actively studying it and how many have completed it.
- See who is studying. Click Ongoing to see who is enrolled, with the date each person started.
- See who has completed it. Click Completed to see who finished it, with the start and completion dates.
- Look at one person. Click a person to open their learning page in a new tab.
Check it worked
- Courses appears in the Reports menu, with an entry for your platform.
- Opening a course you know is in use shows its students under Ongoing or Completed.
- In Team/Org › Settings › Integrations, your learning platform's connector shows how many members were matched.
Tips
- Link courses to skills and roles. Courses linked to skills and certifications show up in people's gap analysis and on skill lists, so the gap arrives with a way to close it.
- Compare with goals. Check Reports › Growth to see whether the people with goals in a skill are taking the courses for it.
- Check matching after go-live. A low match count usually means email addresses differ between the platform and MuchSkills.
- Follow certification training. For training that leads to a certificate, check completions here and the certificate in Reports › Certifications.

Frequently asked questions
Can managers see their own team's courses?
Yes. Managers see their direct reports' enrolments, progress and completions in My Circle, under Learning, without opening Reports.
Why is there no Courses section in Reports?
Courses appears once a learning platform is connected. Udemy Business can be connected in Team/Org › Settings › Integrations. Skillsoft Percipio is set up with us. For other platforms, see Connect any LMS.
Which courses are listed?
Active courses on the connected platform, with the number of unique students for each. Under each course you see the skills it covers. Click a course to see who is studying it and who has completed it.
Why are some learners missing?
MuchSkills matches learning activity to people by email address. If someone's email on the learning platform differs from the address they sign in to MuchSkills with, their activity is not shown. The connector in Settings › Integrations shows how many members were matched.
Can I see one person's learning?
Yes. Click a person in a course's Ongoing or Completed list. Their learning page opens in a new tab, with the courses they are taking and have completed.
Do we have one report for each platform?
Yes. Each connected platform gets its own entry under Courses, for example Skillsoft and Udemy.
How often is the data updated?
At each sync of the learning platform connector. Udemy Business syncs once a day, overnight. If the last sync could not read learning activity, the connector tells you. Until the next successful sync, the numbers are unknown, so do not read them as zero.
