- An authenticator app, for password logins
Most people join MuchSkills from an invitation sent by their organisation. After that you log in with a password, with Google, or through your organisation's single sign-on, depending on how your organisation has set things up.
How it works
There are three ways to log in to MuchSkills. Your organisation decides which ones you use:
| Way in | What you do |
|---|---|
| Password | You log in with your work email and a MuchSkills password |
| You click Log in with Google and use your Google work account | |
| Single sign-on | You click Continue with SAML/SSO and sign in on your organisation's own login page, for example Microsoft or Okta |
Whichever way you use, your work email is your identity in MuchSkills. It connects you to your team, your manager and, if your organisation syncs one, its HR system.
If you log in with a password, you can add two-factor authentication with an authenticator app. Your organisation can also make it required.
Steps
Join from your invitation
- Open the invitation. It comes from MuchSkills to your work email. Your organisation may also share a team invite link instead.
- Click the link in it. If you have no MuchSkills account yet, create one with the email address the invitation was sent to: click Sign up with Google or Continue with SAML/SSO if your organisation uses them, or enter your email, choose a password and click Create account.
- Verify your email if asked. Open the verification email and click the link.
- Complete your account. On Welcome!, enter Your full name and Your Handle (the end of your profile address), then click Complete Account.
- Join your team. If you see The team awaits you, check that the account shown is yours and click Continue & join.
- Go to the login page at app.muchskills.com/login.
- Log in your organisation's way.
- With a password: enter your email, click Continue, enter your password and click Log in.
- With Google: click Log in with Google and choose your work account.
- With single sign-on: click Continue with SAML/SSO, enter your work email and click Continue with SAML. Sign in on your organisation's login page, and you come back to MuchSkills.
- Enter your code if asked. If you use two-factor authentication, open your authenticator app, type the code it shows and click Verify code.
Reset your password
- Click Forgot password? Click here on the login page.
- Enter your email and click Send reset link. You see Reset link sent.
- Open the email and click the link. Enter a New password, enter it again under Confirm password, and click Save new password & Log in.
Turn on two-factor authentication
- Open your account settings. Click your photo at the top right, choose Profile Settings, then Account.
- Switch on Authenticator app under Two-factor authentication.
- Confirm it is you. Enter your current password and click Confirm, then click Get started.
- Link your app. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator, Authy, Duo Mobile or 1Password, or type the code shown under it into the app.
- Enter the code and click Validate. From now on, each password login asks for a code.
If your organisation requires two-factor authentication, you see the banner Activate two-factor authentication after you log in. Click Activate now and follow steps 14 to 16.
Check it worked
- After logging in, you land on your Dashboard.
- Your organisation's name shows in the profile menu at the top right.
- With two-factor authentication on, your next password login asks for a code.
Tips
- Use your work email everywhere. One email keeps your profile, your team and your manager connected.
- Bookmark the login page. app.muchskills.com/login works for every way in.
- Set up two-factor authentication on a phone you keep. If you change phones, link the new one before you reset the old one.
- Change the language. Profile Settings › Account › Language sets the language you use across MuchSkills.

Frequently asked questions
Which way should I log in?
The way your organisation uses. If you were told to use your work account, or a password stops working with This email is enforced to log in using SAML/SSO, use Continue with SAML/SSO. If you are not sure, ask your manager or your MuchSkills admin.
I haven't received an invitation.
Search your inbox and spam folder for MuchSkills. If there is nothing, ask your manager or MuchSkills admin to check that the invitation went to your work email, and to send it again if needed.
Which email address should I use?
Your work email, the one your invitation was sent to. MuchSkills uses your email to match you with your organisation's HR system and single sign-on, so a private address leads to a separate account.
What are the password rules?
At least 8 characters, with at least one uppercase letter and one digit.
I'm locked out after too many attempts.
Wait a few minutes and try again, or reset your password with Forgot password? on the login page.
I lost the phone with my authenticator app.
On the code screen, click I can't connect using a 2FA code. It opens an email to support@muchskills.com, and support helps you get back in.
Can I use MuchSkills in another language?
Yes, where your language is available. Go to Profile Settings › Account and choose it under Language.
I log in with Google or single sign-on. Do I need a MuchSkills password?
No. Your organisation's account is your way in. There is no MuchSkills password to remember or reset, and two-factor authentication is handled by your organisation's sign-in.
The login page says my account is pending deletion.
Someone asked to delete the account. Contact support@muchskills.com from your work email to restore it.
